Lies She Told by Cate Holahan

All I can say is wow from the very beginning the author’s writing keeps you on the edge until you are finished. I’ve already ordered The Widower’s Wife her prior award winning novel. In this psychological suspense novel you will weave in and out of reality to non- reality as our main character Liza is told she has thirty days to compete her next novel. Liza has been quickly slipping from the best seller list and begins feeling the stress in her life. Not only is she feeling the pressure from her editor , she is experimenting with a horomone fertility drug desperately wanting to conceive however she is unable to get her husbands attention. Her husband has become preoccupied with his law partners disappearance.
While Liza frantically dives into her writing the “lies”she creates to complete her work of fiction becomes to close to reality. In the end her fictional character Beth and her best friend Chris force Liza to face her wretched past that has long been suppressed. The surprises never end with this non predictable ending. Absolutely enjoyed The Lies She Told!

      The Dark Lake a novel by Sarah Bailey is sure to be a top seller. Her writing and style is similar to Ruth Ware authentic of The Woman in Cabin 10 and The Lying Game.
